Rolling Stones Replacement Lips

I decided to do a funny but also artistic post replacing my friends lips with cartoon lips. The reason I chose the Rolling Stones' lips is because they this image is iconic. It is seen on posters, t-shirts, and in may works of modern art. I think they are ascetically pleasing and really fun. The friend I chose to use for this project is an artist and uses that image quite often as well, so I found it to be something she would enjoy. I first uploaded an image from google of the lips to photoshop.
I then took out all of the background using the mask tool. I zoomed in close to the edges to get as close to the red as possible, but also wanted to leave a black outline as well. I then made it a smart object and duplicated the layer into the photoshop document with the model. Once I did that, I noticed I missed some of the black background and had to go back and erase more.
Once I touched it up, I resized the lips to make them in place of her real lips. I used the brush tool to pick some of her skin tones and put them around the lips to make it more realistic.
